A few weeks ago, hoards of hard-hatted, tattooed builders, were swarming gleefully over our building, armed with technical drawings, hammers and chisels. They communicated via a strange language, involving sharp intakes of breath, followed by guttural mumblings such as, "Dodgy", "Tricky" and "Cost You". Their brief was to create a showroom so opulent, that it made the Titanic's ballroom look like a garden shed, plus a stunning new demonstration room, modelled on the bridge of the Star Ship Enterprise.
The results of their activities are (we think) superb, giving us a gorgeous new sycamore-clad showroom and a state-of-the-art demonstration room, with full Ethernet connectivity, in-wall speakers and remote control lighting. However, one down-side of undertaking building work at this time of year, is that we were carrying too much stock, which was a pain to store. Our solution was to run a promotion called 'Builder's Bargains', in which we attempted to sell off some of the stock as quickly as possible. This has proved to be very popular, so although the building work is now technically over, we have decided to continue running it until the end of December, pending the VAT increase on January 1st. Enjoy it while you can!
