As
the owner of a specialist Hi-Fi shop, I find that visitors
to my house are always interested to see my equipment
(so to speak). Provided they don't appear to be potential
thieves, I oblige by 'spinning them a few discs'. Of course
it is at this point that I expect them to comment on the
amazingly realistic sound that fills my living room -
the accuracy of the presentation, the width of the soundstage,
the sheer weight of the bass attack etc etc. However,
to a man, the visitors usually lead with a completely
different comment, which goes something like……
"Wow what an amazing rack - where did you get that?!"
This comment is
doubly annoying, firstly because they should be so gob-smacked
by the amazing sound my system makes that they shouldn't
have even noticed the rack, and secondly because they
don't seem to be aware that Creative Audio sell racks,
which suggests that I'm not doing my job properly!
