What makes the n-Vi so good?

It produces
one of the best quality stereo sounds from any Home Cinema amp we've ever heard. Even the most expensive Japanese amps don't sound as good as a £500 straight stereo amp, when playing music. The n-Vi does - it actually sounds similar to a Naim Nait 5i (£700). The same goes for DVD player - even a £1000 Japanese unit doesn't sound any better than a £200 NAD CD player, when playing music. The n-Vi sounds very similar to a Naim CD5i (£825), which is astonishing. Put these two things together and you've got something that's pretty much unique in the Home Cinema world. The words 'cake' and 'eat it' spring instantly to mind!

It's expandable - even though it already sounds brilliant on stereo, you can make it sound hugely better by simply adding on the Naim power amp of your choice - the Naim NAP150x and NAP200 are the obvious contenders. This totally revolutionises the n-Vi's sound, giving the same sort of performance that we have come to expect from a traditional Naim pre-power combo. - You can fit a digital radio module to the n-Vi for just £350 ! Most Home Cinema amps have radios in them, but not DAB ones. This is yet another area in which the n-Vi is ahead of the game.
- There is a video scaler card planned for the near future
. Many people will want to use any Home Cinema amp they buy now as an HDMI switching box for the future. In other words they'll want to plug lots of HDMI sources (e.g. PS3 and HDTV) in, and then take just one HDMI feed on to their plasma, LCD or projector. On top of that, they may want to connect non-HDMI feeds to the n-Vi and then have them 'up-sampled' to HDMI. From what Naim tell us, their proposed new scaler card should have all this covered, which would make the n-Vi as well specified as any of the 'all-singing, all-dancing' Home Cinema amps on the market.
